The HAA Presented the online webinar: “Snake (mis)identification: crowd-sourcing vs. artificial intelligence” by Dr Andrew Durso, Florida Gulf Coast University on 27 August.
Overview: “Snakes can be difficult to identify and both correct clinical management and retrospective epidemiological studies of snakebite rely on accurate identification of snakes. We compared the performance of humans and computer vision algorithms and demonstrate the wide variation in accuracy across snake species and the importance of geography in narrowing down an identification.”
